ABOUT THE PATTERN
Heia Rillegenser is a simple garter-stitch sweater with a wide, slightly cropped fit, a round neckline, and sleeves that are wide at the top and taper towards the cuffs.
The edges are worked in ribbing to frame the garment.
First, the front and back are worked separately as two rectangles, back and forth, from the bottom up.
The front is shaped with decreases at the center to form the neckline.
The two pieces are then sewn together at the shoulders before stitches are picked up for the sleeves.
The sleeves are worked back and forth, top down, with decreases to taper them towards the cuffs.
Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline and the neckband is worked in the round.
The sweater is finished by sewing the sides and underarms together.
